Such systems typically designed for specific project requirements and can combine up to 10 connected parallel filters in one system. Scalable CBRN Filtration Systems for High-volume Air Filtration in Shelters and Hardened Facilities.

Depending on the required air volume, various filter options can be utilized, including AFU 600, AFU 900, AFU 1200, and AFU 1800. These units are designed to provide exceptionally high air volume in both NBC filtration and ventilation modes. Their modularity allows for flexible integration, even in confined spaces such as machine rooms or toxic-free areas (TFA) within shelters.

The filter banks are customized to meet the specific requirements of the shelter, taking into account factors such as available space, air volume, occupancy levels, compliance with local or international standards, construction norms, climate conditions, shock resistance, and blast protection needs. A single shelter can be equipped with multiple filter banks to accommodate varying capacities and operational demands.

Built using certified components, these filter banks ensure safe operation and can be designed as manual, semi-automatic, or fully automated systems, with integration to Building Management Systems (BMS) and remote operation capabilities.

Built using certified components, these filter banks ensure safe operation and can be designed as manual, semi-automatic, or fully automated systems, with integration to Building Management Systems (BMS) and remote operation capabilities.

These systems are commonly deployed in subway stations, hospitals, underground parking facilities, tunnels, and other large-scale governmental or civil defense shelters.

  • System components are tested and certified for SI 4570 standard or designed to meet technical requirements of various international standards for air filtration systems for shelters.
  • Systems are approved by civil defense authorities in different countries.
  • Company systems are installed in tens of thousands of shelters around the world.

Specifications

  • Custom design for specific airflow (starting from 1,200 to 18,000 m3/h, and even larger), using standard filters and components.

  • Designed to meet project specifications and various international standards

  • Multiple systems can be installed in a single shelter to meet any airflow requirements.

  • Semi-automatic / automatic control options

  • Can be integrated with various building management software and remote control

Configuration Options

Filtration batteries can be designed for manual or automatic operation from remote control or building management system (BMS)

Filtration batteries can be configurated according to specific customer requirements including airflow, allocated space, filtration standards, automation and more.

  • Manual operation – CBRN filters are kept hermetically sealed from the factory and connected by operator only in case of emergency. AFU type filters are equipped with quick connectors and can be connected in minutes. The system can be equipped with manually operated gastight valves or motorized gastight valves (GTVs) for air regulation which can be set by the operator in required position manually or from RCU.

  • Automatic operation – CBRN filters are pre-connected to the system and the system can be configurated to  start by press of the button or automatically by signal from RCU, BMS or detectors in case of emergency. The system can be equipped with manually operated with motorized gastight valves (GTVs) for air regulation which can be set by the operator in required position manually or automatically to control the airflow in separate filters or complete system.

  • Other combinations between manual and automatic operation can be configurated.

Automation and Remote Control Options

Filtration batteries can be designed for automatic operation from remote control or building management system (BMS). Remote control unit for system monitoring and control, can be connected to building management system and detectors.

SAFE 360 is an advanced, compact and certified CBRN (Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear) air filtration and ventilation system especially designed for installation in small size protected spaces like safe rooms, residential shelters, bunkers, containers and more for providing fresh filtered air and creating protected environment in the intended area.

  • Very cost-effective
  • Can be installed in a new or existing shelters
  • Simple operation by one person

Specifications

  • Nominal airflow in filtration mode: 36 m3/h (CMH)

  • Nominal airflow in ventilation mode: 54 m3/h (CMH)

  • Electrical requirements: 100-230V AC (one phase) / 12 V DC (optional)

  • Manual backup included for continues operation of the system also in cases of electric outage.

  • Variants: floor-free (wall/hidden) installation

  • Recommended max. shelter size per system: 36 m3 (per system)

Main Components

SAFE 360 components can be placed under the decorative box on the  wall. The components are safely stored until need to be connected to the preinstalled blast valve which protects the air opening.

  1. CBRN filter (combined carbon + HEPA filter)

  2. Electric Blower

  3. Converter from DC to AC

  4. Manual backup

  5. Blast valve with prefilter

  6. Overpressure blast valve with airflow indicator

  7. Decorative case + wall mounting bracket

  8. Clean air hose

Dimensions and Installation Options

Option I – Installation of the Components Box Aside of the Air Inlet

Installation in this option is possible only on suitable flanges which are below or leveled with the wall surface. Installation with retrofit flange is only possible in case it is installed in a niche.

  • Blast valve and other SAFE 360 components (beside the overpressure valve) are located under the decorative cover.

  • Overpressure valve should be located away of the main unit for effective air distribution.

  • The installation of blast valve and overpressure valve should be made on preinstalled 4-inch flanges (see below).

 Preparation for Installation

Definitions
  • Air inlet – ventilation opening in the shelter perimeter wall intended for pulling fresh air from outside.

  • Air outlet – ventilation opening in the shelter perimeter wall intended for releasing air from the shelter. Blast valve – a protective device designed for installation on/in the air inlet for protecting the internal space and the system components from blast wave pressure.

  • Overpressure valve – a protective device designed for installation on/in the air outlet for controlled release of air from the shelter and maintenance of overpressure levels in the protected space.

  • Flange – devices for connection of air duct or valves.

Prior installation it is recommended to perform a pressure/gas tightness test to identify and treat the air leakage sources from the shelter perimeter. For proper operation of the system and creation of overpressure (positive differential pressure) inside, the shelter has to be airtight. Overpressure helps to prevent penetration of contamination through small cracks or opening in the shelter perimeter.

Wall Sleeves and Flanges for Blast Valves and Overpressure Valve Installation

Wall Sleeve with Flange – for Casting in Concrete Walls

Wall sleeves are hollow pipes which are intended to be casted in shelter concrete walls for allowing passage of air from outside and inside. Wall sleeves are usually connected with flanges on the shelter side to allow simple connection of the blast valve, overpressure valve, gas tight valve, air duct, cable gas tight passages and more.

* wall sleeves are not included in the kit and can be purchased separately.

Retrofit Flange – for Installation with Anchors on Existing Walls

Retrofit flanges designed to allow connection of the blast valves and overpressure valves to existing walls in the perimeter of the shelter/ protected space. The flanges connected to the wall by special concrete anchors and have pre installed bolts for securing the valves with nuts.

* retrofit flanges are not included in the kit and can be purchased separately.
